Responsibilities

  • Monitor food and labor costs within budget.
  • Facilitate departmental meetings and information flow.
  • Resolve conflicts to uphold guest relations standards.
  • Work with Marketing and Restaurant Management to boost brand visibility.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Carmine's and Virgil's.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure restaurant success.

Full Job Description
This Executive Chef will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen, including sales and revenue, providing the upmost hospitality to our guests and team members, profitability, managing events and catering culinary execution, and developing our kitchen team and sous chefs into the leaders of tomorrow.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading the kitchen in every capacity and developing a team of chefs with excellent skills
  • Supervises the culinary and sanitation operations daily.
  • Oversees the planning, production, preparation, portioning or garnishment of all foods.
  • Orders operation supplies such as food and beverage products as needed.
  • Hires, trains, and motivates all culinary kitchen hourly team members.
  • Coaches, counsels and disciplines culinary kitchen team members and chefs as needed.
  • Conducts performance appraisals in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Executive Culinary Leadership to develop specials and promotions.
  • Controls food and labor costs on a continual basis within approved budgetary controls.
  • Participates and presides over departmental and venue meetings facilitating the flow of pertinent Information from management to team members.
  • Works with various departments in resolving conflicts and disputes as needed ensuring high standards of guest relations.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Dept. and Restaurant Manager to promote business prospects and positive brand recognition.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador for Carmine's and Virgil's promoting our menus, our service, and more
  • As a senior leader, to work with every department and ensure the success of the restaurant.
  • Other duties as Assigned by your Manager.


Requirements:
  • With an associate degree in Culinary Hospitality Management preferred.
  • With 4 to 6 years of previous experience as an Executive Chef in a full-service restaurant and/or hotel, with progressive supervisory experience in a high-volume environment.
  • With any required health standards in your state and strong management and organizational ability.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, in a deadline driven, demanding environment.
  • With experience in product purchasing and able to adjust and create schedules accordingly.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, proactive, a strong attention to detail.
  • Who are able to communicate in English.; Bilingual in Spanish will be a big plus!
  • With open Availability to work various shifts.
