This role will need to understand the work deeply enough to earn credibility with professionals who are experts in their craft, and to build an HR strategy suited to how this team operates rather than one borrowed from another part of the business.

We are looking for an HR Business Partner who wants to own the talent strategy end to end: get genuinely close to the legal, government affairs, policy, and compliance functions, build real relationships with senior leaders and subject matter experts, and shape a talent agenda that helps the team do their best work and be prepared for the future.

  • Champion the colleague experience. Stay close enough to the team to understand how people are really doing, and act early to keep engagement strong across a group of high-performing experts
  • Build leadership capability and succession strength. Help current leaders grow into their roles while building a strong pipeline, so the function has capable leaders ready to step up.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor. Be the person Corporate Affairs leaders turn to for their most complex talent and organizational challenges, offering sound judgment and practical solutions rather than process for its own sake.
  • Deliver core talent programs with quality. Own performance management, talent reviews, workforce planning, and other core HR cycles, ensuring each has a clear, measurable impact on the business.
  • Partner on organizational design. Work closely with the leader of Corporate Affairs to ensure the function is well led, staffed with the right people in the right roles, and positioned to deliver on its mission now and in the future.
  • Maintain a clear view of the talent landscape. Build and maintain visibility into leadership and talent needs across Corporate Affairs, so the organization knows what capabilities exist today and what to develop or hire for.
  • Represent Corporate Affairs within the HR Function. Bring the Corporate Affairs perspective into company-wide HR decisions, and ensure what is agreed at the leadership level is understood and applied within Corporate Affairs and ensure the needs of Corporate Affairs employees and leaders are reflected in how HR plans and prioritizes its work company-wide.
  • Drive continuous improvement. Look for ways to improve how the Corporate Affairs team works, develops its people, and models the practices it expects of the broader business.

  • Business acumen. You have understand how teams create value for the company and connect talent priorities to meaningful business outcomes.
  • Expertise and judgment. You apply broad HR knowledge to get to the root cause of people issues, and you are willing to ask hard questions and explore better ways of doing things, respectfully and constructively.
  • Influence and trust. You coach, challenge, and guide leaders while modeling the behaviors you expect of others. People follow your lead because they trust your judgment, not because of your title.
  • Ownership and execution. You are accountable for outcomes, not just activity. You create clear plans, track progress consistently, and hold teams accountable in a way that helps rather than hinders. You are comfortable operating hands-on to drive difficult or unfamiliar work to completion.
  • Simplicity and clarity. You take complex ideas and plans and translate them into something easy to understand and act on.
  • Change management. You understand that lasting change takes time and careful management, and you design your approach accordingly.
