Full Job Description
Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time EWD Leadership Instructor on the Fond du Lac Campus.  This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet college academic and workforce needs. In addition, this position will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.

 

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or willing to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program. Progress toward a Bachelor’s Degree will be measured through the successful completion of a minimum of three (3) credits of coursework annually, beginning with the third year of employment. Also required is two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year of recent experience, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. (Two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.). 

 

The qualified candidate must also have experience with at least four of the following job duties:

 o Responsible for planning, organizing, leading, controlling, and coordinating in designated areas of responsibility  o Coordinate people and business activities, budget, and oversee records control  o Hire, train, motivate, discipline, terminate, lead, and supervise employees  o Assign duties to employees and prepare work schedules and budgets o Handle complaints and promote continuous improvement  o Review operations, write reports, enforce regulations, and help employees solve work problems  o Manage Support services of businesses, agencies, or organizations. Direct activities concerned with the purchase or sale of materials or services;   clerical functions, benefit programs, and dealing with outside organizations on matters such as business services and contracts

Responsibilities:

• Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.• Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.• Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe. • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.• Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.• Assist with student recruitment and proactively promote the College programs and services offered.• Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources. • Engage in internal and external College meetings and activities. • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.• Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training. • Assist with mentoring faculty. • Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs, as necessary to support the assigned program area and future trends in industry. Work with the supervisor to identify alternative funding sources, as needed.• Maintain documentation for grant activities.

 

Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above)

• Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

Desired Qualifications:• Demonstrated ability to speak and write in English and Spanish in professional settings.

Other Position Requirements:• Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends.• This position may require teaching and/or travel to other MPTC (Moraine Park Technical College) campus locations, client/contract work sites, and/or Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions. • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Hiring Range: $74,440-$86,352 (pending board approval) 178-day year-round contract

Starting: July 2026
