Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Estimator to lead the preparation of competitive and accurate estimates for electrical and civil utility infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in municipal and utility construction, including roadway lighting, traffic signalization, underground electrical distribution, duct banks, utility relocations, and related infrastructure works.

Location: This position is located out of the GTA
Responsibilities- Prepare complete and accurate cost estimates for electrical and civil utility infrastructure projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, geotechnical reports, and tender documents to determine project scope.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for underground electrical distribution, roadway lighting, traffic signalization, duct banks, and civil works.
- Solicit, analyze, and evaluate quotations from suppliers, subcontractors, and specialty contractors.
- Develop labour production rates, equipment utilization assumptions, and project execution strategies.
- Identify project risks and opportunities and participate in bid strategy and risk review meetings.
- Prepare comprehensive bid submissions for municipal, utility, provincial, and private-sector clients.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as required.
- Collaborate with project managers, operations staff, engineers, and senior leadership during the estimating process.
- Provide value engineering recommendations and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate estimating records and historical cost databases.
- Support project handoff meetings following contract award and review estimate performance upon project completion.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, procurement policies, and contract obligations.
Qualifications- Minimum 5-8 years of estimating experience in electrical utility, civil infrastructure, roadway lighting, traffic signalization, underground distribution, or related construction sectors.
- Proven experience preparing successful bids for municipal, utility, and infrastructure projects.
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Electrical trade certification or Journeyperson Electrician designation considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of Ontario utility and municipal construction practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents.
- Strong knowledge of labour, equipment, subcontractor, and material pricing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction estimating software.
- Knowledge of CCDC contracts, OPSS standards, municipal procurement practices, and contract risk management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project locations as required.

Travel RequirementsTravel to project locations and client meetings will primarily be within the GTA. Occasional travel outside these areas may be required.

Salary range between $120,000 to $150,000 per annum.
