DescriptionWe are seeking an Equity Research Associate to join our Consumer Products team in Toronto. The associate will work closely with the senior analyst to develop and market all equity products. The role requires strong analytical / critical thinking skills, a passion for the stock market, keen attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
The ideal candidate will have prior relevant experience, such as in sell-side equity research, accounting, investment banking and/or corporate development. Candidates who are eager to leverage technology and AI to enhance research efficiency, data analysis, and insight generation are welcome.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Building, maintaining, and updating detailed financial and valuation models;
- Analyzing company financial statements, earnings releases, regulatory filings, and management transcripts;
- Monitoring industry developments, company-specific news, and macro drivers relevant to coverage;
- Supporting the preparation of equity research reports and, over time, contributing to investment theses;
- Responding to ad hoc data, analysis, and information requests from internal and external clients;
- Maintaining and analyzing industry and company-level datasets;
- Participating in site visits, management meetings, and industry events;
- Communicating investment views and recommendations to analysts, portfolio managers, and clients;
- Learning and applying AI tools and automation to improve research workflows, data processing, and analytical output.
Experience & SkillsA combination of strong analytical ability, writing and financial modeling skills, and a demonstrated interest in equity research or finance is required. Prior consumer products industry experience is beneficial but not mandatory. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Professionalism and confidence interacting with company management teams and investment professionals
- Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly
- A strong work ethic, self-motivation, and comfort with non-standard working hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
- Proficiency with relevant technology and data platforms, including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar tools is an asset
- Experience using AI tools to enhance productivity, analysis, or research quality is a plus
Education & Credentials- Bachelor's degree required
- Degree in finance, economics, or a related field is an asset
- CFA designation or progress toward the CFA program is a strong advantage

The salary range for this role is $110,000 up to $115,000 CAD (subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements)This job posting is for a current vacancy.
