POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Epic Leadership team, the Application Analyst primary role is to have a complete working knowledge of assigned EPIC application, to include an understanding of the assigned department workflows for the associated EPIC build, upgrade and release process. The Application Analyst will act as the primary support contact for the EPIC application and coordinate issues that arise in their area of responsibility. They will perform workflow analysis, data collection and report issues associated with the EPIC software. The Application Analyst will build in the EPIC system and as part of this process they will understand and analyze the end user and business operation needs. The Application Analyst will review the software, coordinate updates and collect information regarding potential system enhancement needs. The Application Analyst will serve as a liaison between EPIC staff, end users, third parties and technical staff. The Application Analyst will work with end users by participating in training and troubleshooting issues and questions. The analyst will participate in the creation of test plans and testing of application changes and upgrades.

The Application Analyst will be required to follow IT Change Control processes, create support documentation following standard IS protocols and have working knowledge of HIPAA and other IT security and privacy best practices.

The Application Analyst may be required to participate in an on call rotation as determined by their Manager and perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's program or has a Bachelor's degree in any field OR has Information Technology experience OR has experience in a healthcare related field.

Desired:
  • Previous systems/application support and analysis in the healthcare industry
  • Understanding of Epic or other hospital applications
  • Prior information systems experience, including system installations/upgrades, analysis & support of clinical or business information systems, workflow development.


LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:
  • EPIC Certification (dept tracks)


SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
The Application Analyst will have or develop an understanding of the organization and the EPIC user community for their assigned area. The ability to lead meetings, prioritize, maintain issues lists and manage project plans is necessary. This person must be able to apply logic to the analysis, development and implementation of complex workflow and information system solutions and be able to successfully implement these solutions in assigned area. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential for working in a complex and varied work environment. Conflict management skills are necessary to resolve conflicts within and among departments and disciplines throughout the Organization and with physicians. Change management skills are necessary to lead implementations that will result in significant changes to work flow process for associates, physicians, and physicians' office staffs throughout the organization. Knowledge of operations and regulatory requirements pertaining to assigned areas of responsibility.
