As our Nashville, Tennessee office continues to expand, S&ME is seeking a skilled professional to lead projects, provide technical guidance, support the development of junior staff, and contribute to business growth throughout the region. This Project Manager role is ideal for someone who thrives in both the technical aspects of environmental consulting and the relationship-driven side of client engagement and business development.

S&ME is seeking an ambitious and dedicated Project Manager to join our Environmental Service Line team in Nashville, Tennessee.

As a Project Manager, you will support our environmental team's Phase I and Phase II ESAs, hazardous building materials assessments, brownfield projects, and regulatory compliance efforts while leading key project functions from initial planning and field implementation through technical reporting and team development, and providing guidance and support to junior staff members. You will play an important role in delivering environmental due diligence services, site investigations, industrial and brownfield redevelopment projects, private sector developments, and remediation programs through a combination of hands-on fieldwork and technical office responsibilities.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Direct and coordinate field activities, including development of health and safety plans, site assessment planning, and execution of environmental media and hazardous building material investigations, along with oversight of drilling, grading contractor work, and monitoring well installations.
  • Evaluate and interpret environmental field and laboratory data, and assist in preparing technical reports for submission to clients and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Support project planning and execution to ensure work meets quality requirements and complies with applicable environmental regulations.
  • Communicate with clients and project stakeholders in a clear, professional, and responsive manner.
  • Assist with proposal development, project scheduling, scope management, and tracking key project milestones.
  • Monitor project budgets, support financial performance, and contribute to business development initiatives.


What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience, including progressive Project Management responsibilities
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred. Lead and/or asbestos accreditation/certification a plus.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Excellent business development abilities and existing client relationships in the local market are preferred.
