Full Job Description

You'll partner with leaders across the organization, influence thousands of frontline employees, and directly impact metrics that matter from injury rates and workers' compensation costs to regulatory compliance and emergency readiness. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT - You build and own SIXT US's EHS management system, including written programs, policies, and standards for branches, service bays, and fueling/detailing operations - You ensure compliance with federal OSHA and state-plan requirements (including Cal/OSHA) across all U.S. locations, owning OSHA 300/300A recordkeeping, electronic submission, and posting, and you own environmental compliance across the network: used oil/fluids, refrigerants, stormwater, spill prevention (SPCC), and waste management - You establish technician safety programs covering automotive lift inspection (ALI/ANSI), lockout/tagout, hazard communication, PPE, and EV high-voltage safety - You manage the workers' compensation program with HR and our carrier/TPA, including claims reviews, return-to-work coordination, and an EMR reduction strategy - You develop site emergency action and disaster plans (hurricane, tornado, wildfire, winter weather) including employee protection, drills, and business continuity coordination - You build and deliver the safety training matrix with tracked completion to 6495%, you run a scored branch safety audit program and report EHS KPIs to U.S. leadership monthly, you qualify contractors and vendors for on-site safety, and you align with SIXT SE group standards and ESG reporting YOUR SKILLS MATTER - Experience You bring 7+ years of progressive EHS experience with 3+ years owning multi-site programs, and automotive, fleet, rental, logistics, or aviation ground operations experience is strongly preferred - Technical Knowledge You have deep working knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 (general industry), OSHA recordkeeping, multi-state and state-plan compliance, and hands-on experience with workers' compensation claims management and EMR improvement - Emergency Planning You have experience writing and running emergency action and disaster preparedness plans, with hurricane-region experience - Education You hold a Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field, and CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or ASP is strongly preferred, with CHMM or CIH a plus - Builder's Mindset You are comfortable being a department of one, influencing without authority, and executing through branch leadership - Mobility You are willing to travel ~40% across the U.S. branch network and respond to serious incidents, and bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus for frontline training delivery WHAT WE OFFER - Comprehensive Health Insurance Access healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision), life insurance, critical illness, hospital indemnity, pet insurance, and a 401k retirement plan - Paid Time Off & Sick Leave Enjoy PTO, sick leave, floating paid holidays and a healthy work-life balance - Hybrid Work Format Flexible hybrid work options - 4/1 format - Exclusive Employee Rentals Leverage special rental discounts exclusive to employees, offering great savings for you, friends, and family - Self-Motivation & Reliability You work autonomously, take full ownership of your projects, and consistently deliver results with a proactive, dependable mindset
