The Role:

As the Environmental Engineer, reporting to the Sr. Manager - EHS, Americas, you will be responsible for the consistent improvement of environmental compliance in support of SI's ZERO EHS Impact Philosophy. You will be responsible for performing testing, analyzing, and tracking waste levels at the site. Using this data, you will create recommendations, training materials, and improvement plans to maintain a safe and compliant site.

How You Will Make an Impact:
  • Ensures EHS compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Responsibilities include sampling, inspections, analysis, reporting, and mitigation applications in area of expertise (water, air, waste, etc)
  • Work with regulatory bodies, consultants, and contractors to investigate areas of contamination and to implement corrective measures
  • Responsible for permit compliance and renewal processes
  • Ensures accurate and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory reports
  • Maintain accurate records for inspections, regulatory investigations and compliance
  • Responsible for reviewing MOCs for environmental compliance or impacts
  • Conduct site audits, inspections and investigations with internal and external regulatory agencies for in scope activities
  • Conduct Environmental Hazard Analyses with Operations and Process Safety
  • Responsible for groundwater process management; operation of recovery wells, sampling, and groundwater reporting procedures
  • Work with licensed contractors to ensure compliant waste removal
  • Accountable for renewal of site abatement license and the accurate and timely submission of abatement reports
  • Monitor solid waste from dewatering operations to ensure permit compliance
  • Track and report monthly metrics Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) as well as prepare technical progress reports on active projects and initiatives
  • Satisfy all Corporate Quality Requirements and ISO9001 Quality Management System
  • Practice Responsible Care 14001 through active participation in the Responsible Care Management System and adhere to the Guiding Principles of Responsible Care 14001
