WHAT YOU WILL DO

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee VAT planning and provide expert guidance to the business, while partnering with Enterprise Services to ensure accurate VAT reconciliations and VAT planning support.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Support RTX VAT planning initiatives to optimize global VAT efficiency while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Evaluate business transactions, supply chains, and contractual arrangements to identify VAT risks and opportunities.
  • Provide clear, timely, and practical VAT guidance to internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support business expansions, restructurings, new product launches, and cross-border transactions with VAT technical analysis.
  • Develop and maintain VAT planning strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting VAT and advise on necessary operational or planning actions.
  • Review and enhance VAT controls, processes, and documentation to reduce risks and strengthen governance.
  • Partner with external advisors when necessary to obtain specialized jurisdictional guidance.
  • Support audit and controversy matter by preparing technical positions and managing discussions with tax authorities
  • Support Enterprise Services to improve VAT data accuracy and completeness across source systems and reporting tools.
  • Lead the VAT review of key reconciliations, including VAT GL accounts, VAT returns, and VAT balance sheet positions.
  • Identify root causes of reconciliation variances and drive corrective actions with Finance, IT, and Shared Services teams.
  • Support the design and implementation of system and process changes impacting VAT recognition, reporting, and reconciliation.


QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Law, or related field; advanced degree (LLM, MST, JD, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of VAT/indirect tax experience, ideally within a multinational corporation, Big 4, or leading advisory firm.
  • US Citizenship would be required in order access ERP systems with US Government defense data


QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Strong technical knowledge of VAT rules, cross-border transactions, and supply chain tax impacts.
  • Demonstrated experience leading VAT planning projects and advising senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with enterprise services, shared service centers, or large-scale finance operations is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and business-partnering skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex tax concepts for non-tax audiences.
  • Ability to identify VAT process gaps and best practices for improvement
  • Ability to resolve complex technical issues, and recognize the need for and seeks out internal or external subject matter expertise

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
