Job Profile Summary:

  • The Manager of Enterprise Vendor Management will architect and lead our global vendor ecosystem to drive innovation, efficiency, and a distinct competitive advantage for FedEx. This role is responsible for transforming the Vendor Management team from a support function into a strategic business partner. You will develop and execute long-term vendor strategies that align with enterprise-wide goals, foster key partner relationships, and build a framework that optimizes value, mitigates risk, and ensures sustainable performance across our global operations. The manager will lead a dedicated team and influence a broad, matrixed network of stakeholders to achieve enterprise-wide objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and Execute Vendor Strategy: Design, implement, and continuously evolve a comprehensive, long-term vendor management strategy that aligns with FedEx's corporate objectives. Proactively identify and cultivate a global network of strategic vendor partners to drive innovation and business growth.
  • Drive Strategic Value and Performance: Move beyond tactical oversight to lead strategic initiatives focused on optimization, risk mitigation, and value creation. Champion the development of a robust governance framework that uses data-driven insights, SLAs, and performance metrics to maximize vendor value. and deliver measurable business outcomes (performance improvements & risk reduction).
  • Lead Enterprise-Wide Vendor Management Implementation: Working with the Global Programs team, spearhead the optimization of an enterprise Vendor Management System ensuring it meets the needs of an enterprise vendor management program. Leverage the platform to deliver actionable business intelligence, automate processes, and provide a seamless, high-quality experience for all internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as a Strategic Business Partner: Act as a central point of strategic engagement between internal FedEx divisions (e.g., Sourcing, Finance, Legal, IT) and external vendor partners. Understand deep-seated business needs and translate them into strategic sourcing and vendor engagement opportunities.
  • Champion Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation by challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities for process re-engineering and automation. Develop and implement process improvement roadmaps that deliver measurable gains in quality, cost, and efficiency.
  • Lead Strategic Risk Management: Develop and lead strategic initiatives for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating vendor-related risks. Ensure the vendor ecosystem is resilient, secure, and fully compliant with all internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Influence and Report to Leadership: Develop and present strategic recommendations and progress reports to senior leadership. Clearly articulate the value, risks, and opportunities within the vendor landscape to secure buy-in and drive critical decisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree/equivalent in business, finance, economics, information technology or related field. MBA preferred.

Minimum Experience

Eight (8) years of experience in business problem solving, operational analysis, business consulting, project management, vendor management, governance controls, procurement and/or risk management. A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements. Proven leadership experience.

Leadership and Transformation: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage change, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Expert Communication: Superior written, oral, and presentation skills to effectively convey complex information to a variety of audiences, including executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience establishing, leading, or scaling a centralized Enterprise Vendor Management (EVM) or Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program is preferred. This is a hybrid position located in Memphis, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.

Pay Transparency: Salary level is E28. MEM range ($8,452-14-$11,410.38)
