Description The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining a large set of distributed services written in Go, Java, Python, and Kotlin
- Some familiarity with distributed systems, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS , and Terraform
- Strong background in full-stack development and the ability to adapt to new requirements quickly
- Work efforts are expected to have direct impact on performance and scalability of client services
Clearance A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. This position requires in-scope poly, within 7 years. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required Five (5) years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Required skills:
- Proven expertise in at least two of the following: Go, Java, Python, Kotlin
- Understanding of distributed systems and databases and/or willingness to learn
- Backend development experience
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new requirements and technologies quickly
Desired skills:
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of AWS infrastructure
- Familiarity with big data processing frameworks and tools
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design
- Experience with Terraform
Benefits Erias Ventures provides a complete package of wealth, health, and happiness benefits. The expected salary range for this position, depending on education and years of experience is $135,000 - $148,000.
