Overview

Reporting to the DVP of Enterprise Operations, you will help shape how REI operates by designing and improving enterprise operating models and governance systems. As a senior process design leader, you will create and refine ways of working that align teams around shared goals, improve execution, and support cross-divisional collaboration.

This role combines design thinking, operational excellence, and facilitation to build clarity, alignment, and accountability across the organization. You will partner with senior leaders to define, test, and evolve processes that support decision-making, improve visibility, and strengthen how the business delivers value. You will also model and support REI's values and mission.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Enterprise Operating Model Design: Design and refine enterprise operating models that connect strategy, financial planning, and day-to-day operations.
  • Process Innovation & Design Thinking: Apply design thinking to create, test, and scale new ways of working; translate business needs into clear processes and frameworks.
  • Operational Governance: Coordinate governance processes across the organization and clarify decision-making roles and responsibilities.
  • Consulting & Enablement: Partner with teams to develop new processes, providing tools, templates, and facilitation to support consistent adoption.
  • Measurement & Continuous Improvement: Define and track process health metrics; support continuous improvement through regular reviews and updates.


Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in design thinking or process design
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Design, or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • Experience applying design thinking or service design to complex organizational challenges
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CBPP) preferred
  • Proficiency in digital process tools and emerging technologies: RPA, process mining, data analytics, AI in processes with an ability to leverage technology to automate workflows and glean insights from process data for data-driven decisions
  • Knowledge of enterprise planning, governance, and decision-making structures in retail
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders to build and scale cross-functional processes
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and systems thinking skills
  • Willingness to relocate to Greater Seattle area if not already located within the area (relocation assistance available)

Pay Range

$140,300.00 - $238,600.00 per year
