Position Description:The Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible for establishing and governing enterprise-wide technology architecture strategies, standards, roadmaps, and solution alignment across the utility. This role partners closely with business leaders, operational technology teams, cybersecurity, application delivery teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure technology investments support the organization's strategic priorities, operational reliability, regulatory compliance, customer experience, and long-term sustainability objectives.
Essential Job Tasks:- Develops and maintain enterprise architecture standards, reference architectures, and governance processes.
- Leads architecture reviews for projects, technology acquisitions, and major operational initiatives.
- Aligns technology strategies and roadmaps with utility business objectives and operational priorities.
- Partners with business and operational leaders to identify opportunities for modernization, automation, and digital transformation.
- Supports long-range planning for enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and operational technologies.
- Facilitates Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB) governance and decision-making processes.
- Drives simplification, resiliency, interoperability, and reduction of unnecessary technical complexity.
- Collaborates with Enterprise Security teams to ensure solutions align with security policies, NERC CIP requirements, and risk management standards.
- Provides architecture guidance for utility platforms such as GIS, ERP, CIS, SCADA, EMS, AMI, work management, and analytics platforms.
- Assists with vendor evaluations, technology selection processes, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Supports application portfolio management activities, including lifecycle planning and technology rationalization.
- Develops executive-level architecture presentations, roadmaps, and strategic recommendations.
- Establishes and maintain strong partnerships across IT, OT, Security, Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Customer organizations.
Position Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field + 8 years or more years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, infrastructure, applications, or related technology discipline.
- Experience supporting complex enterprise technology environments or leading technology governance and architecture review processes.
- Must have excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or architecture-related certifications preferred.
- Experience within electric utility, public power, energy, or critical infrastructure industries.
- Experience with TOGAF, Zachman, or other enterprise architecture methodologies.
- Experience supporting hybrid IT/OT environments.
- Knowledge of NERC CIP and utility regulatory environments.
Compensation Information:$116,650 - $145,800 (min. - mid.)
