Position Description:Assists technicians, technical supervisors and senior engineers in the installation, checkout, and maintenance of NERC compliant protective relays and associated control circuitry to ensure proper protection of generators, transformers, transmission lines, and other power system equipment with direct supervision. The incumbent must possess analytical and communication skills.
Essential Job Tasks:- Assists with the installation, maintenance and testing of Transmission level NERC compliant protective relays and associated control devices (such as RTU's) and performs any necessary operational checks and required NERC documentation with direct supervision. Assists team members with the use of the required tools, test equipment and personal protective equipment. Out of town travel is required. Uses computers and the associated software to view, analyze and program protective relays, SCADA RTU's, ethernet switches, fault recorders and other substation equipment with direct supervision.
- Maintains accurate engineering drawings and uses knowledge and experience to solve advanced problems in protection and control schemes with direct supervision of team lead or supervisor.
- Provides engineering support for the restoration of service to customers during emergencies due to adverse weather or equipment malfunction with direct supervision. Responds to issues with protection and control equipment with other staff and assists with troubleshooting efforts. Rotational on-call status for 24/7 response during call is required.
- Adheres to NERC CIP and O&P (company and SPC) policies and assists with accurate compliance documentation.
Will consider Engineer I, II, III or SeniorPosition Requirements: Engineer I- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited college/university required.
- FE/EIT preferred.
Compensation Information:$75,500 - $94,350 (min. - mid.)
Engineer II- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited college/university +2 years experience required.
- FE/EIT preferred.
Compensation Information:$84,180 - $105,210 (min. - mid.)
Engineer III- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited college/university +5 years experience required.
- FE/EIT required.
Compensation Information:$93,830 - $117,290 (min. - mid.)
Senior Engineer - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited college/university +8 years experience required.
