Full Job Description
Role Overview

A large enterprise organization is seeking an Enterprise Architect to support technology strategy, architecture governance, technology roadmaps, and modernization initiatives.

This person will partner across business and IT teams to assess the current technology landscape, define future-state architecture, identify gaps and risks, and ensure new solutions align with enterprise standards.

This is a true Enterprise Architecture role, rather than a hands-on engineering position. The ideal candidate has broad knowledge across multiple architecture domains and can effectively operate between strategic leadership and technical teams.

What They'll Do
  • Develop and maintain current-state, future-state, and transition-state architectures.
  • Build technology roadmaps, reference architectures, capability maps, application maps, integration diagrams, and related documentation.
  • Review proposed solutions and designs for alignment with enterprise standards and technology strategy.
  • Participate in Architecture Review Boards and other technology governance forums.
  • Identify technical debt, redundant technologies, architecture gaps, risks, and modernization opportunities.
  • Support application portfolio rationalization and technology lifecycle planning.
  • Establish and promote enterprise architecture standards, patterns, guardrails, and approved technologies.
  • Evaluate new platforms, vendor solutions, and emerging technologies.
  • Partner across application, data, integration, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business teams.
  • Present technical architecture recommendations in language that both business and technology leaders can understand.

Must-Have Experience
  • 7+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 3+ years in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or a closely related architecture role.
  • Experience producing architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, system or application maps, diagrams, and similar EA artifacts.
  • Experience with architecture governance or technical design reviews.
  • Broad knowledge across at least two to three architecture domains, including applications, integration, data, cloud, infrastructure, security, or business architecture.
  • Experience partnering across multiple technical teams and communicating with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess complex technology environments and recommend standardization, modernization, consolidation, and future-state direction.

Preferred Experience
  • TOGAF certification.
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture Management tools such as LeanIX, Ardoq, BiZZdesign, Orbus, Sparx EA, ServiceNow APM, or similar.
  • Experience with application portfolio management, technology rationalization, capability mapping, or lifecycle management.
  • Exposure to Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience supporting a large, complex, or regulated enterprise.
  • Experience participating in Architecture Review Boards.
  • Cloud, ITIL, SAFe, COBIT, CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications.
