Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect will support the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) on the ITD - Service Governance team. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into enterprise, solution, and domain architectures for large and complex technical solutions. The Architect will design and govern architectures spanning applications, data, infrastructure, and security domains, while applying cloud and hybrid expertise to shape target-state solutions. This position also serves as a trusted Subject Matter Expert, providing technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders throughout the solutioning process.
Responsibilities- Translate client business requirements into specific systems, application, or process designs for large, complex technical solutions.
- Analyze customer service requirements and design service solutions to meet business objectives.
- Serve as the primary expert responsible for constructing solution scope documents, risk profiles, and corresponding financial models.
- Design and govern enterprise architectures spanning applications, data, infrastructure, and security domains.
- Translate business strategy and requirements into target-state architectures, roadmaps, standards, and detailed solution designs.
- Apply cloud and hybrid architecture expertise across Azure, AWS, GCP, and modern architectural patterns.
- Develop solution scope, risk assessments, remediation plans, and Statements of Work for complex services proposals.
- Maintain and apply detailed industry and internal services knowledge, including expert-level understanding of the processes, technologies, and staffing involved in services solutions.
- Compose Statements of Work and related documents specifying processes, technology, staffing, and project management for proposed solutions.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor and Subject Matter Expert to internal and external stakeholders while following established governance and approval processes.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications- 8 years of experience in enterprise, solution, or domain architecture roles.
- 8 years of experience designing and governing enterprise architectures across applications, data, infrastructure, and security domains.
- 8 years of experience with cloud and hybrid environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern architectural patterns.
- 8 years of demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into target-state architectures, roadmaps, and standards.
- 8 years of experience leading system-specific solutioning by translating business requirements into detailed solution designs (application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure) aligned to enterprise standards and target-state architecture.
Preferred Qualifications- 2 years of experience conducting current-state assessments and fit-gap analysis for legacy and COTS/SaaS platforms, recommending modernization approaches (rehost/replatform/refactor/replace/retire) with clear cost, risk, and timeline tradeoffs.
- 2 years of hands-on experience with Generative AI use cases such as copilots, chatbots, or knowledge assistants.
- 2 years of experience integrating AI services into enterprise applications via APIs or event-driven patterns.
- Cloud, AI, or Enterprise Architecture certifications.
Additional Requirements- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Local candidates only; must currently reside within 50 miles of the Austin, Texas work location.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, onsite 4 to 5 days per week.
