Job Summary:

The Enterprise Applications Project Manager has primary responsibilities in two key areas: the management of technology projects and the support and enhancement of various enterprise applications. In the area of project management, this position is responsible for the design and development of the project management and change leadership strategy, process, and culture, initially for the Enterprise Applications Team and eventually for all of ITS. With respect to enterprise applications, this position manages the full systems life cycle for University ERP, SIS, CRM, and many other mission-critical applications. The incumbent will play a key role in developing and executing the university's digital transformation strategy. Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Lead the advancement of a project management structured approach for enterprise systems and technology initiatives within ITS and when called upon outside ITS by developing a right sized, repeatable, and sustainable strategy. This includes developing and deploying project management tools, techniques, templates, and documentation standards to maintain organization, effectiveness and efficiency managing projects.
2. Works to establish a culture of project management, change management, and continuous improvement. Lead, mentor, share resources, and provide training opportunities for others. Demonstrate the value of a structure approach and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
3. Help drive strategic initiatives by working with the Enterprise Applications Team, departments, and stakeholders on solutions and eliminating roadblocks in enterprise systems. This includes leading complex and high-risk evaluation, implementation, and migration projects working closely with third-party vendors, providers, and consultants.
4. Manages and supports the technical environment of various enterprise systems to ensure systems are up to date, performing efficiently, secure, and utilized effectively.Configures and administers interfaces, integrations, processes, reports, and dashboards to provide an improved user experience and empower data driven decision making.
5. Supports data governance initiatives working with departments, data stewards and business analysts. Communicates potential concerns, researches, and provides recommendations and solutions. Strives to ensure that new software being evaluated or implemented meets data governance standards.
6. Participates in ITS department leadership and decision-making. Performs other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility and requirements of the position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Enterprise Application Manager may supervise Systems Analysts and other staff assigned to his/her unit and will be responsible for their performance evaluations. This position will also provide oversight, guidance, and direction to all sub-contractors or vendors working on Enterprise Applications to ensure university objectives are being met.

Internal: Extensive; will have frequent interactions with University faculty, administrators, and staff; occasional interaction with students

External: Vendors, sub-contractors, consultants

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with major course work in MIS, Engineering, or a related field is required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification(s) preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years or equivalent work managing projects using a structured approach is required. Additionally, a minimum of 6 years of systems analysis and/or programming experience is required. Experience in an academic environment is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

• • Knowledge of and ability to apply Project Management and Change Management best practices required
  • Experience with Project Management Software required
  • Software implementation-migration experience required
  • Experience with (at least 2) programming/procedural/script languages (use with Eclipse IDE desirable)
  • Experience with relational database management systems (Microsoft SQL required, UniData desirable)
  • Experience supporting ERP Applications is required (Ellucian Colleague highly desired)
