Full Job Description
English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher who can bring literature, writing, and discussion to life while creating a supportive environment where students are encouraged to think critically, express themselves, and engage with new ideas throughout the school year in the Bronx, NY.

Position Overview
  • Deliver engaging 8th-grade English Language Arts instruction aligned with curriculum and student learning needs.
  • Create a proactive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth.
  • Assess student learning, monitor academic progress, and provide instructional support to help students meet learning goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute actively to the school community and instructional team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid New York State Teaching Certification (Preferred)
    • Non-certified candidates must have at least 12 college credits in the relevant subject area and provide transcripts demonstrating subject-matter expertise.
  • 1-2 years of experience teaching ELA to middle or high school students; experience in urban teaching environments is preferred
