Salary Range: $83,000.00 to $104,000.00
The anticipated salary range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range
The RolePrimary job functions specific to this position include:
- Supports Control Inspections annually with in-field support
- Manage backlogs by monitoring SAP inputs, providing direction, and closing out projects
- Optimize workflow by directing work assignments of consultants and contractors to ensure shipyard facilities are maintained in a safe condition
- Provide field support for trades and contractors in the field
- Support docking evolutions by providing onsite technical support as needed to continue operations
- Coordinate and execute annual flood drills to meet the requirements of the Mil-STD-1625 requirements
- Serve as a mentor for younger technicians within the O41 Plant Engineering organization
- Create technical direction and supports trades and contractors on site during maintenance and repair of the facilities
- Collaborate and provide technical rigor to facility systems such as railways, transporters, tugboats, barges, and piers
- Perform technical evaluations, conduct infrastructure assessments and respond to emergent safety related issues in a fast paced, large industrial facility setting
Provides in-field technical support to engineers, planners, and contractors to repair graving docks, critical equipment, and the floating dry dock. Utilizes acquired experience to support repairs and quality assurance verifications for critical equipment. Manages backlog to coordinate, plan, and execute repairs, modifications, and upgrades with contractors and trades. Assess mechanical, hydraulic, and structural deficiencies and plans repairs with cognizant engineers.
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
Must HaveAssociate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
Nice to Have- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships and rapport with NNS production, engineering, safety, maintenance, and contractors
- Shipyard/Nuclear facilities experience
- Hands on experience with controls, electrical, mechanical, machining, fabrication or relevant trade
