This initiative aims to improve reliability, customer satisfaction, and safety. As part of Dominion Energy's Electric Transmission Organization, this role involves ensuring safety and compliance in lab activities, performing root cause analyses, maintaining laboratory facilities, and generating comprehensive reports. Lab personnel are also required to collaborate with other departments and stay informed about industry standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with SMEs to identify the underlying causes of equipment failure by conducting thorough visual examinations, analyzing data, and utilizing a range of analytical techniques to determine the root cause.
  • Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques, including magnetic-particle exams, eddy current testing, and acoustic emission testing, in coordination with equipment SMEs.
  • Work with SMEs to produce detailed reports outlining analysis findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future failures and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Ensure that safety and compliance requirements are applied to all RCA activities in the laboratory, and verify that personnel performing RCA have completed all required training.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, maintenance, and quality control to share information, coordinate investigations, and ensure effective problem resolution.
  • Deliver training programs for field organizations on safely engaging with de-energized equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory facilities.
