Responsibilities

In this position...

As the VRT Engineering Specialist - Co-Lead, you will report to the Quality Process Engineering Manager. In this role, you will execute assignments from the manufacturing Co-Lead and collaborate with product development team members to stay apprised of emerging issues within your assigned Variability Reduction Team (VRT)

What you'll do...
  • Support VRT (Variability Reduction Team) with statistical process control and data analysis.
  • Data analysis using big data queries and supporting all VRTs in Problem resolution.
  • Creating Dashboards to reduce defect definition time
  • Participate with the VRT team to conduct a periodic job observation.
  • Update the status to completion of periodic job observation.
  • Provide external and internal data checks for quality reviews.
  • Maintain health chart schedule and assessments.
  • Maintain and review quality leadership system charts for data accuracy and work group binning.
  • Perform subsystem checks as required.
  • Learning control plan and verifying data entry as required into web-based data management.
  • Assemble acceptance criteria visual aids for the VRT (Variability Reduction Team).
  • Maintain cycle line layout indicator mapping with the assistance of the VRT (Variability Reduction Team).
  • Update and maintain the Quality Confirmation Map.
  • Apply Quality principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
  • Analyze root causes, engage in mapping and take corrective actions to reduce inventory.
  • Lead role in resolving assembly related concerns. Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices
  • Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc.


Qualifications

You'll have...
  • Bachelors in Mechanical/Materials/Electrical Engineering/Computers/Data Science
  • 3+ Years of Automotive experience preferred in Quality Problem-solving roles
  • Internal concern analysis for RTY & R/1000 Improvements
  • Knowledgeable in AI/ML algorithms for Data engineering - independent enough to understand manufacturing problems and initiate problem-solving solutions
  • Proficient with Grab CAD to design and develop gauges/tooling aids using 3D Printing to create measurement system adjustments for solving VRT issues.
  • Working knowledge of Citrix (CM4D), SPDQS, WBDM, Vow cell Team centre to understand Body dimensional data and highlight opportunities for improvement in Body construction and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Green belt certified (Preferred Black Belt)
  • Strong working knowledge of GSAR, BSAQ, and QARS to understand warranty information and support problem-solving
  • Strong understanding on QLS & IQT Usage and Data Analysis
  • Good working knowledge on Vision systems like Keynes, MAIVS, AITRIZ
  • Error Proofing Data Analysis and Interpretation
  • Proficient in creating Health Chart CTQ in E2KS
  • Microsoft Office (excel, PowerPoint, word)
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Day-Shift but must be able to work alternate shifts, hours as business needs dictate.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.
