Engineering - Reliability Engineer | Orlando, Florida, United States Job Summary: Reliability Engineer - Orlando, FL
Responsibilities
- Conduct component-level Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) in accordance with MIL STD 1629A and internal standards
- Identify, assess, and document failure modes, causes, and impacts on system reliability
- Assign criticality rankings and develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks
- Update FMECA documentation throughout product development, capturing and applying lessons learned
- Define objectives and acceleration factors for accelerated lifecycle and thermal cycling testing using advanced reliability models (e.g., Arrhenius, Coffin Manson)
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee test plans, ensuring efficient execution with internal laboratories
- Collaborate closely with design engineers, materials scientists, program managers, and test teams
- Interpret test results and translate data into actionable reliability improvements
- Maintain documentation control while managing multiple test programs and analyses
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 1-3 years of hands-on reliability engineering experience
- Demonstrated expertise in FMECA and accelerated aging/thermal cycling tests
- Proficiency in reliability standards such as MIL STD 1629A, IEC 60812
- Strong knowledge of failure physics, degradation mechanisms, and material performance
- Ability to develop and interpret test plans using ASTM, IEC, or MIL methods
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills
- Proven skills in root cause analysis, risk assessment, and data-driven insights
- Effective multitasking and documentation management abilities
Preferred Skills
- Model-Based Engineering tool familiarity (e.g., Cameo)
- Experience with reliability/statistical software (ReliaSoft, Weibull++, ANSYS Reliability, Minitab, R, Python)
- Practical hands-on hardware test and troubleshooting experience
- Analytical problem solving and innovative thinking
- Experience managing subcontractors in reliability engineering
