Full Job Description
The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Project Manager to lead design and engineering execution on significant, complex utility-scale solar, battery storage, transmission line, and substation projects from initiation through completion. Bringing a strong engineering background, you'll join our growing team as a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate brings hands-on familiarity with the engineering design process and a genuine interest in the utility-scale renewable energy space.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead Project Execution
• Serve as the single point of accountability for project delivery across scope, schedule, and budget.
• Drive every deliverable to completion within agreed timelines, coordinating multidiscipline teams (electrical, structural, geotechnical, civil, and materials testing) into one seamless workflow.
• Lead engineering discussions, guide technical direction, and help resolve cross-discipline design questions so the team moves as one.
• Set clear priorities from kickoff through closeout.

Own Budgets and Invoicing
• Manage project budgets, tracking labor, expenses, and subconsultant costs against the approved plan.
• Monitor project financial health continuously and give early warning on potential cost variances before they escalate.
• Prepare, review, and issue accurate client invoices on schedule, tying billing to milestones and contract terms.
• Track accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and manage change-order billing so revenue is captured cleanly.
• Partner with accounting and leadership on forecasting, project margins, and cash flow.

Manage Contracts
• Own the project contract from execution through closeout, ensuring the team delivers to its terms and the client meets theirs.
• Review scopes of work, deliverables, and commercial terms, flagging anything that creates risk or ambiguity.
• Draft, negotiate, and process change orders.

Champion Client Experience
• Act as the primary point of contact for all project communication, building transparency and trust around every objective and contractual requirement.
• Manage scope adjustments efficiently.

Ensure Quality and Compliance
• Apply standardized processes and best practices across every discipline.
• Capture and apply lessons learned so each project raises the bar for the next.

Mitigate Risks and Resolve Issues
• Identify risks early.
• Respond quickly when challenges arise.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field; PMP certification highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of the engineering design process across relevant disciplines (civil, electrical, structural) sufficient to review deliverables and coordinate effectively with design teams.
• Experience managing projects through a phased design approach (e.g., 30%/60%/90% design milestones through Issued-for-Construction), including coordinating design iterations and resolving comments across disciplines.
• Comfort reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and design packages well enough to flag issues before they reach the field.
• Minimum of 3 years of exposure to the Utility Scale Solar industry.
• Minimum of 2 years in project management in the renewable industry specifically, Utility Scale.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and project management tools.
• Preferred knowledge of NetSuite and Monday.com
• Strong financial acumen, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license
