Job Description

You will be leading a Treasury Operations team at VXBS (Visa Cross-Border Solutions) / CurrencyCloud, where we are building and scaling our treasury experience to support the business operations team. Our mission is to enable robust processes and systems that underpin liquidity and risk management across global operations.

As Engineering Manager, you will report to the Treasury Tribe Director of Engineering and lead a team of 4+ software engineers. Your team will deliver services in a modern, event-driven cloud architecture, ensuring operational excellence and resilience.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers to enhance our treasury capabilities, focusing on operational efficiency and risk mitigation.

Key contributions include:
  • Build and scale treasury operations platforms to streamline business processes and support liquidity and risk management.
  • Contribute to the new liquidity observability and management platform, enabling real-time insights and decision-making for treasury operations.
  • Drive technical strategy for scaling software solutions in a greenfield environment, leveraging event-driven architecture.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering growth and best practices.
  • Influence wider company architecture, ensuring treasury systems integrate seamlessly with organisational platforms.
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to maintain a robust suite of automated testing scenarios for operational reliability.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead and willingness to step into the EM role.

Technical Qualifications:
• Experience managing working with contractors and outsource teams is important.
• Experience building in software for financial domain, especially in treasury or liquidity management is beneficial.
• Experience working with agile process and principles.
• Experience in multiple programming languages, these teams primarily use Java, so experience with microservices in Java is important.
• Proficient in different programming languages, ideally being comfortable reading Ruby or Scala.
• Experience designing event based and streaming solutions using Kafka will be valued.
• Strong SQL knowledge, ability to understand and write complex queries.
• Working knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL.
• Experience building applications that run in Kubernetes would be handy.
• Working in a DevOps environment, or passion and willingness to work in this way.
• Proven delivery of well-tested, scalable, fault-tolerant and performant solutions.
• A pragmatic approach to solutions and delivery of technical projects.
• Have been a driving force not only behind change in your previous roles but also in working in a distributed environment.
• Having worked in a collaborative environment where you are comfortable reviewing code of your peers.

The estimated salary range for this position is $162,500.00 to $ 260,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
