The Role

As an Engineering Manager in Presidio's Digital Organization, high-impact team of engineers and architects building modern, cloud-native, AI-first applications, using GenAI accelerators to move faster. You own delivery excellence, partner to run practice operations, develop consultative engineers, and connect every engagement to measurable business outcomes and new opportunities.

You will own the delivery and growth of a hands-on product engineering team embedded with Presidio's clients, turning their toughest software problems into shipped, AI-enabled products. The work you lead will show up in production, and in the client relationships that grow because of it.

Responsibilities Include:

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and architects into forward-deployed, consultative professionals.
  • Provide clear goals, actionable feedback, and career progression pathways aligned to senior, lead, and architect roles.
  • Attract, hire, and onboard talent capable of operating in client-facing, ambiguous environments and delivering impact from day one.
  • Partner with Legal and HR advisory teams to manage employees' immigration paperwork and related compliance needs.
  • Drive talent development plans that build bench strength, close capability gaps, and support career growth across the team.

Client Delivery & Engagement Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of client engagements, ensuring high-quality outcomes that build trust and drive long-term relationships.
  • Own engagement success by aligning execution to business value, maintaining focus on intended outcomes, and managing risks proactively.
  • Provide clarity and direction during complex or high-pressure situations, enabling teams to navigate ambiguity and deliver results.
  • Stay close to the work by guiding architecture, design, and adoption of modern engineering practices (cloud-native, DevSecOps, AI/GenAI).
  • Serve as an engagement executive as needed, providing senior-level oversight and escalation support on key client engagements.

Solutioning, Growth & Client Impact

  • Partner with clients to define problems, frame solutions, and connect engineering decisions to measurable business outcomes.
  • Support pre-sales and account teams by contributing to solutioning, scoping, and SOW development to expand engagements.
  • Identify new opportunities by anticipating client needs and surfacing challenges to sales and account leadership.
  • Support verticals and markets in understanding pipeline and emerging trend needs to inform delivery and staffing strategy.

Staffing & Resource Management

  • Align the right talent to the right engagements based on skills, capacity, and client requirements.
  • Monitor team utilization, capacity, and capability gaps to optimize resource allocation and delivery readiness.
  • Ensure team members maintain current skills, certifications, and updated profiles to support staffing, proposals, and career growth.
  • Work through staffing and talent strategies to align resourcing decisions with practice and engagement needs.

Practice Development & Operations

  • Contribute to practice growth by supporting operational needs such as RFP responses, contract reviews, staffing inputs, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Promote continuous learning and capability development to strengthen team expertise and market competitiveness.
  • Represent the organization through industry engagement (forums, conferences, thought leadership) to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
  • Create thought leadership collateral for the practice, covering offerings and capabilities to support market positioning.

Ways of Working

  • Take ownership of outcomes, operate effectively with incomplete information, and maintain accountability for results.
  • Foster a collaborative, feedback-driven culture that encourages continuous improvement and resilience.
  • Communicate openly across teams and stakeholders, strengthening global and cross-functional partnerships.

Required Skills and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead capacity.
  • Hands-on full-stack expertise (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js, React, Angular) plus familiarity with data technologies (SQL, Spark, Databricks), built on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with modern practices like microservices, containers, serverless, and infrastructure as code.
  • Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM and GenAI applications (RAG, agents, orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails), plus using GenAI coding tools like Kiro and GitHub Copilot to deliver faster.
  • Strong consultative and communication skills: executive presence, leading client workshops and briefings, and problem-discovery that connects delivery to measurable business outcomes.
  • Proven people leadership: coaching engineers, managing conflict and escalations with integrity, and delivering in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Willingness and ability to travel 0-30% as engagement needs require.

Preferred Skills and Professional Experience:

  • Consulting or client-facing delivery experience, including managing distributed or global teams.
  • Experience with data engineering or cross-domain solution delivery.
  • Familiarity with responsible-AI practices: model risk, data privacy, evaluation, and AI governance.
