About the Role:

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead Intelliguard's Mechanical and Electrical Engineering functions and be responsible for the development, delivery, quality, and continuous improvement of our hardware products and technologies. You will provide both technical and people leadership while guiding a multidisciplinary engineering team through all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing and ongoing product support. We want this person to have passion for the following:

  • Love building prototypes, concepts, and bringing finished products to market to scale
  • Love RFID, Blue Tooth Low Energy (BLE), NFC, and other related types of technologies
What You'll Be Doing:
Engineering Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team consisting of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and career development support.
  • Establish engineering priorities, allocate resources, and balance workloads.
  • Partner with leadership on hiring, workforce planning, and succession planning.
Product Development & Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical oversight for design, development, verification, and release activities.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and documentation.
  • Drive innovation and identify product and technology improvements.
Project & Portfolio Management
  • Manage engineering projects from conception through production.
  • Develop project plans and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate project status and priorities to stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Product, and Customer Success teams.
  • Support customer-facing technical discussions and investigations.
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Intelliguard QMS requirements.
  • Support ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality standards and audits.
We Would Love To Hear From You, If:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing, or related environments.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing engineers, technical teams, or engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical system design and development.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and other relevant engineering design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles including BOMs, work instructions, workflow analysis, and value stream mapping.
  • Experience managing complex engineering projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical device experience.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience with electromechanical product development.

Other Information:
  • Hybrid role in Columbus, OH (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
  • Relocation assistance is NOT available for this role.
