About the Role

We're looking for a sharp, product-minded Engineering Manager who's ready to own Amplitude's Guides & Surveys product and team. This isn't a "keep the lights on" job. You'll lead the charge on one of the fastest growing products at Amplitude, from roadmap to architecture to hiring. If you want to ship fast, grow a killer team, and obsess over user impact, we should talk.
What You'll Do
  • Own the Guides & Surveys product, technical direction, execution, and team.
  • Ship like it's your name on the commit. Because it is.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with PM, Design, and Tech Lead to turn raw customer pain into product breakthroughs.
  • Scale systems that capture billions of user events, without melting down.
  • Push the team (and yourself) to write clean, modern, scalable code, and know when to throw perfection out the window to move.
  • Hire, grow, and retain A+ engineers. No passengers.
  • Build a team culture where people love coming to work, and get sh*t done.
You Might Be a Great Fit If:
  • You have 5+ years of engineering experience, including some part of that experience managing teams that ship fast and learn faster.
  • Shipped complex, high-impact products in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong opinions on architecture, code quality, and how to balance speed with scale.
  • Mastery of a modern stack (JS/TS, Python, AWS - you get it).
  • Have fully embraced AI and are regularly pushing PRs.
  • A sharp product sense. You ask "why?" more than "how?"
  • Experience (or strong interest) in behavioral analytics.

Bonus Points
  • You've taken 0→1 or scaled a startup product.
  • You've led SDK teams in the past.
  • You write code when it makes sense, and know when to get out of the way.

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Colorado. Colorado range: $227,000 - $341,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $254,000 - $381,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $254,000 - $381,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $227,000 - $341,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range: $227,000 - $341,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO, 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary), medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally, a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
