Full Job Description
We are seeking Engineering Managers to join our product engineering pillar to lead the Admin & Governance team, focused on scaling product experiences for our biggest customers. As AI becomes central to Airtable, enterprise customers need governance controls that let them adopt AI confidently, with granular feature enablement, capability-based restrictions, and full admin visibility. The Admin & Governance team is building that control plane - the AI Governance framework that gives admins those controls at every level of the enterprise. This work builds on the team's deep ownership of Airtable's enterprise trust infrastructure: the Admin Panel, SSO, audit systems, and User Groups that power governance for our largest customers. We're looking for a leader who can drive the AI Governance roadmap, scale the team's existing enterprise trust systems, and directly unblock adoption for our largest customers. Please note: while we employ a hybrid working model at Airtable (flexible in working from the office or elsewhere), we are looking to hire candidates at this level that are based in San Francisco who are open to coming into the office at least ~2-3 times/week for team collaboration. What you'll do • Lead, manage, and grow a team of high-functioning engineers that are in charge of our systems and frameworks. • Partner with engineering leaders to drive technical decisions and initiatives to build products in a high-quality and sustainable way. • Nurture a team of passionate and capable engineers. Partner with senior engineers to multiply their impact, and coach & grow early-career engineers. • Partner with cross-functional peers including product and design to come up with and execute against short and long term strategy and plans for the team. • Implement processes to help the team scale and be productive, while allowing for agility to accommodate the dynamic environment that we operate in. Who you are • 5+ years experience as an engineer (previously in a staff or TL level IC position) and 2+ years as a manager, or a similar combination. • Strong customer focus and experience working closely with Product Managers to define products, manage tradeoffs, and drive adoption with customers. • Experience with navigating large systems. • Experience leading high performing engineering teams in a fast paced environment • Experience in growing and mentoring engineers. • Experience in managing, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects and work streams. Compensation awarded to successful candidates will vary based on their work location, relevant skills, and experience. Our total compensation package also includes the opportunity to receive benefits, restricted stock units, and may include incentive compensation. To learn more about our comprehensive benefit offerings, please check out Life at Airtable. For work locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, New York City, and Los Angeles, the base salary range for this role is: $281,000-$365,700 USD
