Engineering - Components Engineer | King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, United States Engineering - Components Engineer Location: King of Prussia, PA, 19406, United States About the Role Step into a critical position as a Components Engineer, where you'll impact the future of aerospace technology and defense hardware. Responsibilities - Review aerospace hardware designs and ensure compliance with MIL-STD-11991 and other military specifications - Evaluate electrical and electronic equipment including piece parts, circuit card assemblies, wires, harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies - Interpret manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bills of Materials to assess component suitability - Develop and submit Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) to Department of Defense organizations - Conduct detailed part-level obsolescence management, including BOM monitoring, issue resolution, and new source identification - Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation, vendor quality manuals, and company quality records - Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for data analysis and component evaluation - Plan and perform analysis, inspection, testing, and integration activities to ensure product/component quality - Collaborate with design engineers, cross-functional teams, and vendors to enforce compliance and resolve complex design issues - Present findings and recommendations to program management and customers Required Skills and Experience - Minimum 3 years of direct experience with MIL-STD-11991 requirements and NSPAR development - Expertise in reviewing and analyzing active and passive electronic piece parts - Proficient in reading and interpreting manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and BOMs - Experience in part-level obsolescence management and problem-solving for electronic systems - Strong communication skills and ability to present technical information to stakeholders - Willingness to take on diverse assignments across the product lifecycle Preferred Skills - Familiarity with Destructive Physical Analysis, Particle Impact Noise Detection Testing, and MIL-STD-883 test methods - Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering Benefits - Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package - Opportunities for professional development and certification - Work alongside industry leaders in a supportive and innovative environment - Career advancement pathways within the aerospace and defense sector How to Apply Ready to advance your career in aerospace engineering?
