VMware & Cloud Automation Engineer

This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of VMware vSphere infrastructure (vCenter and ESXi 8.0), automation of cloud provisioning using Aria Automation, and evaluation of hybrid cloud solutions such as VMware Cloud on AWS and Azure VMware Solution. The engineer will also provide technical recommendations and cost analysis to support strategic infrastructure decisions.

VMware vSphere 8.0 Administration
• Manage and maintain VMware vCenter and ESXi 8.0 clusters, including lifecycle operations, patching, and upgrades
• Configure and optimize vSphere features such as DRS, HA, vMotion, and vSAN.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and root cause analysis for infrastructure issues.
• Implement security patching and compliance hardening across ESXi hosts.

Aria Automation (vRA)
• Design and manage projects within Aria Automation, including blueprint creation, policy enforcement, and integration with vCenter
• Automate provisioning workflows and manage service catalogs for internal teams.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to extend automation capabilities using PowerShell and REST APIs.

Proof of Concept (POC) & Hybrid Cloud Solutions
• Lead POCs for VMware Cloud on AWS and Azure VMware Solution, including architecture design, deployment, and testing
• Evaluate network and firewall requirements, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect integration, and workload migration strategies
• Provide whitepapers and solution briefs comparing VMC, AVS, and on-prem alternatives

Technical Recommendations & Cost Analysis
• Deliver cost models and TCO comparisons for on-prem vs. cloud-based VMware environments.
• Advice on licensing, scalability, and DR strategies for hybrid deployments.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams. Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in VMware infrastructure (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
• Hands-on experience with Aria Automation (vRA 8.x or later).
• Experience with hybrid cloud platforms: VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution.
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation and orchestration.
• Familiarity with NSX-T, vSAN, and cloud networking (ExpressRoute, TGW).

Salary Range- $95,000-$110,000 a year
