POSITION SUMMARY: (Onsite in Miami, Fl)

We have a common passion for creative thinking, innovative engineering and outstanding guest service that drives continuous improvement in everything we do. Our pursuit of continuous improvement and Operational Excellence is supported by the Program Management Office (PMO). Related core services provided by our Operational Excellence Team are strategic and operational analysis, implementation of Lean methodologies and tools as well as the definition of standards.

Driving continuous improvement, design, operation, standardization and control of processes is the responsibility of the Process Engineer. Managed and guided by the Program Management and/or Senior Process Engineers the Process Engineer consults with internal & external clients in various organizations, corporate departments shore side and shipboard. Function as an in-house process driver and coach of matrixed operating department.

Define need or problem, gather and analyze data, and advise recommended course of action. Perform process redesign and organization analysis studies to promote efficient and economical staff and facilities utilization on existing and new generation vessels. Assist Program Management with development, implementation and maintenance of Lean methodologies and tools. The Program is aimed to improve business performance across the department portfolio. This role will use advance planning, workflow methods, risk management and quality management to support the program (& project) objectives. Furthermore, provide expertise and best practice implementation with regard to the process improvement discipline.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead process development, improvement and standardization across Program and Project Management according to Lean Philosophy
  • Lead development of Lean methods and tools for customer requirements and critical process features
  • Lead, organization, moderation and documentation of internal and external program related workshops to improve processes, manage planning and execution of projects as well as changes in progress
  • Consult Program and Project Management on alternate methods of solving need or problem and recommend specific solution
  • Apply analytical techniques to drive process improvements, generally quality improvement, cost reduction or revenue increase and enhance delivery services
  • Determine root causes of defects in performance through data analysis, decomposition and process observation
  • Utilize principles of industrial engineering to evaluate work method proposals and to develop recommendations to management
  • Implement a feedback culture, drive the associated actions and incorporate feedback into future plans
  • Monitor strategic and operational Key Performance Indicators to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Manage PMO knowledge sharing as well as identify process benchmarks within and outside the maritime industry
  • Collaborate with counterparts in other business areas


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in workshop moderation and managing a small team of professionals

  • Advanced analytical and structural skills including mathematical modeling, exposure to operations research and industrial engineering methodologies such as queuing theory, simulation, and statistics
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to facilitate groups of stakeholders to arrive at conclusions and recommendations
  • Change Management skills


GENERAL KNOWLEDGE:
  • Working knowledge of personal computers within a Windows environment
  • Profound knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple projects and priorities


LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Solid written and verbal English communication skills are a must
  • Clear and precise communication at all levels of an organization essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the organization, both shipboard and shore side, audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents and government regulations
  • Further language skills are a plus
