What We Are Looking For
Toyota's Automated Electronics & Evaluation Department is at the forefront of evaluating and validating advanced driver assistance technologies that help shape the future of mobility. We are looking for an Engineer who is passionate about vehicle technology, enjoys hands on testing and data analysis, and thrives when collaborating across teams to improve customer focused vehicle performance.

Reporting to the Engineering leadership team within Integrated Vehicle Systems, this role supports the evaluation of current and future Advanced Driver Assistance Systems through vehicle testing, data analysis, and performance validation activities.

What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will spend your time evaluating advanced vehicle technologies, analyzing performance data, and working with internal and external partners to improve the customer experience. Success means delivering clear, data driven insights, helping define future system requirements, and supporting the development of vehicle technologies that delight customers.
  • Lead evaluation activities for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems by partnering with stakeholders and suppliers to validate system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct hands on vehicle evaluations in closed course, public road, and simulated environments while collecting and analyzing performance data to drive engineering decisions.
  • Configure, modify, and troubleshoot test vehicles, sensors, and data acquisition systems to ensure high quality test execution.
  • Develop and standardize evaluation processes, test methods, key performance indicators, and validation protocols that improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Serve as a customer advocate by translating customer feedback, market trends, and competitive insights into recommendations that improve vehicle performance.
  • Create clear, compelling reports and visualizations that transform complex data into actionable insights and support stakeholder alignment.
  • Develop and enhance software tools that improve testing automation, data analysis, simulation activities, and vehicle validation efficiency.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by proposing data driven enhancements to existing features and evaluation methods.
  • Build strong partnerships across engineering teams and suppliers to maximize technology effectiveness and resource utilization.


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or higher that provides a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience where you have worked with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, including sensors, controls, and technologies such as cameras, radar, sonar, or lidar.
  • Experience developing and executing evaluation methods, defining or modifying key performance indicators, and supporting system level validation activities.
  • Experience conducting vehicle evaluations in public road and closed course environments while collecting, analyzing, and interpreting performance data.
  • Experience using CAN communication protocols and related tools to monitor, analyze, and manipulate vehicle communication data.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting vehicle or test bench data acquisition systems and developing software or analysis tools that improve testing efficiency.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% and work overtime as needed to support project objectives.
  • A motor vehicle record that meets company standards, as driving responsibilities are required for this role.
