Role OverviewSummary:This position is a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with a focus on New Product Development. This role is responsible for supporting all efforts related to the design and development of Mechanical and Electro-mechanical systems into our Outdoor Cooking products. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team to design and implement ideas using CAD models, drawings, cost estimates, prototyping, and testing products. This position will provide engineering support for assigned product development projects.
This is a hybrid role requiring in office days at our Palatine, IL campus.
Responsibilities:- Develop solutions through requirements decomposition, Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA), P-Diagrams, and Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R)
- Create and refine design solutions for assemblies to identified product requirements, formalize designs with the use of CAD (SolidWorks)
- Ensure that products are designed to meet all performance specifications and regulatory requirements
- Work collaboratively with Quality, Manufacturing, and Suppliers
- Create models, drawings, and bill of material
- Support prototype creation and models to validate designs including hands-on testing and iterative learning
- Designs and runs test plans related to project work
- Perform basic IP searches
- Supports non-NPD initiatives including the resolution of quality issues, cost reductions, and productivity initiatives
- Develop unique and innovative solutions for unmet customer needs and/or new features to maintain product leadership
Qualifications:Education:
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Work Experience:
- Minimum: 3 to 5 years' experience in a relevant field
- Designing solutions that meet regulatory and safety requirements
- SolidWorks: Proficiency with 3D modeling
Skills:
- Independent self-starter who can manage and prioritize work based on departmental goals and objectives

Salary Range: $100,000 - $118,000
