Engineer II - Quality

Work Mode: Onsite

Location:Onsite - Huntsville, AL

Opportunity

Direct, support and develop the quality and quality system initiatives including statistical process control (SPC), multivariable design of experiments (DOE), ISO 9000 certification, advanced product quality planning (APQP) support, and Kohler quality management system (KQMS) implementation.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Use the ISO 9000 standards to improve day to day process variation by coordinating the seamless integrating the necessary systems into existing manufacturing process.
  • Conduct management review meetings in accordance with ISO 9000 standards.
  • Monitor Cost of Quality results and engineer changes which will help the plant surpass COQ objectives.
  • Effectively oversee traditional Quality Control functions.
  • Oversee implementation of calibration systems for inspection and process testing procedures/equipment used in manufacturing operations in accordance with ISO 9000 standards.
  • Scheduling and conducting frequent audits of finished products, reporting the results and monitoring trends.
  • Restricting products from shipment, as necessary, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Communicating with customers, other plants, and with consumer affairs and field sales, to resolve problems reported.
  • Continually strive to prevent/reduce claims and warranty.

    Drive warranty and UFR initiatives.
  • Develop database and lead yield enhancement initiatives.
  • Work with Ops management to develop programs to further integrate the use of SPC and DOE as a way to eliminate process variation.


Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited engineering program, or a PE license is required.
  • 3+ years of related work experience. Past experience ideally includes successful technical leadership on a major project.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
