Full Job Description
Your Role:

We are seeking an Engineer III to design, develop, and test novel single-use filtration devices suitable for the manufacture of therapeutic biopharmaceuticals, vaccines, and emerging gene therapies. In this role you will execute product development projects to deliver advanced clarification, filtration, and solid/liquid separation technologies intended for downstream bioprocessing applications. You will be responsible for projects directed toward the identification, assessment, and commercialization of new filtration technologies enabling the cost-effective clarification and recovery of biological products. You may serve as technical lead for a project team and be responsible for project assignments and tasks of high complexity. You will apply solid scientific and engineering principles to evaluate the performance of prototype filtration devices in a collaborative environment, leverage personal and institutional knowledge to achieve project goals and timelines, and develop materials, devices, and methods that achieve cost and performance objectives. You will also contribute to the product and manufacturing process validation of these products for use in a diverse range of applications within the biotechnology industry. In this position, the researcher will interact with a variety of business functions outside of R&D to develop and refine customer needs and requirements, support alpha/beta prototype field trials, and assist in the development and transfer of commercially viable technologies to manufacturing.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Science or Engineering discipline and 5+ years of engineering experience.

OR
  • Master's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Science or Engineering discipline and 3+ years of engineering experience.

OR
  • PhD in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Science or Engineering discipline and 1+ years of engineering experience.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of and practice in protein separations.
  • Experienced in conducting exploratory and development work in a research laboratory environment.
  • Proficient in design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis methods.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and unwavering resolve to meet project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories through literature, conferences, and workshops.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project) and statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP.


Pay Range for this position: $85,500 - $149,800 / year

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
