We're hiring a junior systems-level designer with passion and experience in Cybersecurity with a keen focus on automation of cyber and secure systems design. You will gain experience in cyber best practices, complex secure enterprise systems engineering in a fast paced environment addressing the challenges AI has brought to cybersecurity. You'll shape end-to-end architectures with frameworks integrating multiple AI and Data Enclaves, Systems and Interfaces. Designing for measurable outcomes, integration with AI & Zero Trust security, anti-hallucination and token optimization frameworks. This role involves leadership in the technical framework as well as engagement with stakeholders whom will utilize the interfaces and applications developed.
Serve as a technical leader within the Chief Innovation Strategy Organization (CSO) in McLean, VA. Role Description
We are hiring a Junior Cyber Developer to join our multi-disciplinary team developing a breadth of solutions across our portfolio. This position is a junior role focused on cybersecurity with room to grow. We are focused on secure frameworks for AI, automation of security hardening and implementation of frameworks that change the trust narrative around complex data environments. You will contribute to the architecture and execution of high-visibility systems, engaging in projects that will expose and challenge you across the following technical areas:

• Implement Cybersecurity and Identity Control Frameworks (MCP) for Agentic Systems
• Integration with MCP Frameworks for Data, Identity, Cost and Cyber Security Controls
• Integrate with Full-Stack Software Engineering Teams and Software Frameworks
• Implement Cyber Hardening of Enterprise-Grade Cloud Infrastructure and Data Pipelines
• Multi-Platform Enterprise Integration (ServiceNow, Salesforce, Splunk, Custom Ecosystems)

Responsibilities

• Implement Complex Systems - Implement security into the architectures, development lifecycle and operational systems. Ensuring seamless cybersecurity controls integration while ensuring high-performance UI frameworks & backend services maintain capability. Leverage cloud security infrastructure through inheritance and security integration.
• Team Collaboration & Leadership - Partner closely with PIs, strategic planners, and executive stakeholders to conceptualize, scope, and execute strategic technical pathways.
• Elevate Engineering Standards - Champion Cybersecurity within Agentic Frameworks in the design and the DevSecOps CI/CD developer workflow. Develop automated security testing, security orchestration, security workflows as well as implement new automated detection, control and remediation systems.

• Cyber Security Foundation - Hold cyber certifications and understand the core principles of cybersecurity in a modern AI centric connected cloud environment. Bring demonstrated innovation and leadership in cybersecurity.
• Cyber Engineering - Bring a ready now set of skills in implementing cybersecurity within development and deployment environments.
• Software Engineering Principles - Cyber security automation needs software skill. Have demonstrated expertise in multiple languages (such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, Java, or C++), microservices architecture, cloud to embedded and distributed systems design.
• Proven Architecture Experience - Extensive hands-on background integrating complex software components, cloud services, databases, and third-party APIs or Large & Small Language Model worflows.
• DevSecOps & Infrastructure Leadership - Comprehensive understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible), and enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines. Design for accreditation and deployment is key.
• Collaborative Leadership - Demonstrated success in technical teams, partnering with research or product stakeholders, and elevating the capabilities of surrounding engineers.

• Track Record - History of success in teams, delivery of viable systems from start to finish, adapting to changing tools and frameworks. Be prepared to share lessons learned.

Working Conditions

Required Skills and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent high-impact practical experience.
• Professional cybersecurity experience, with a proven track record of securing complex systems and development of automation.
• Experience executing rapid-cycle R&D & AI frameworks.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. TS/SCI Preferred.

Preferred Skills and Education

• Fluency in at least two of the following: Software Engineering, AI Harness Engineering, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Hardware/Firmware/Embedded Systems.
