Job DescriptionCEMA provides next-generation EO/IR and RF/electronic warfare products in support of our warfighters and user base across the land and up into the skies. As a CEMA mechanical engineer you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities spanning the product lifecycle including design & development, verification & validation, transition to production, test equipment design and development, as well as production sustainment for complex electronics, electro-mechanical, and optomechanical designs. Candidates will work within dynamic engineering development teams collaborating and sharing knowledge with colleagues and experts from around the country in the effort to deliver the most advanced products our customers require to do their jobs!
Successful candidates must possess strong technical aptitude, communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally within the hardware engineering organization and with other engineering disciplines/functions. You will be expected to exercise discretion and independent judgment in technical areas based on mechanical engineering principles and practical design & development experience.
Job Responsibilities- Leading or participating in multi-discipline hardware teams through the engineering design, development, build, and test of product
- Performing mechanical modeling, analyses, prototyping, build/assembly, as well as environmental testing to ensure design requirements are achieved
- Developing test equipment and solutions necessary for production environments
- Applying your expertise, decision making skills, and engineering judgment to progress technical designs
- Implementing hardware design processes and driving design review activities to ensure program success
- Generating and reviewing the technical content of test procedures, drawings, engineering specifications, reports, Change Orders, and other documentation
- Communicating essential information and coordinating with other engineering disciplines, Procurement, Operations, and Program Management
- Supporting Root Cause and Corrective Action activities
- Interfacing with customers and suppliers as required to communicate technical information
- Working in engineering labs in support of build, test, and verification efforts
- Developing or supporting program schedules, earned value criteria, and productivity metrics for efficient performance
- Supporting program capture and proposal teams with hardware baselines that include development and cost/scheduling estimating
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge with colleagues
Required Skills and Education- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, and a minimum of 4 years related work experience or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills and Education- Previous EO/IR Experience
- Experience in RF/Electronic Warfare Products
