- Apply your engineering skills and education to investigate, analyze, and evaluate system designs for proper testability.
- Ensure the BIT design is adequate to meet customer requirements for fault detection and fault isolation.
- Develop Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts including activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc. that represent the BIT design.
- Influence product development by supporting the design team to establish BIT functions, test interface requirements and diagnostic features.
- Supports BIT integration activities by testing or overseeing the testing of BIT features, investigating results, and implementing corrective actions to the BIT design.
- Participates in designing algorithms that predict the remaining useful life of the system (prognostics)
- Plans and conducts formal BIT Demonstration activities by defining the representative fault list from the testability study, defining the fault insertion methods, performing dry-runs to test the fault insertion methods and modifying BIT software and diagnostic rules based on results of testing.
