Job DescriptionUnder direction of the site SHE Manager, CMS and P&S Environmental leadership, the Environmental Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the site remains both compliant and conformant to all applicable environmental obligations. The selected individual will also be responsible for identifying and executing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the site's environmental management system and remediation site strategies. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: remediation program oversight, solid and hazardous waste management program oversight, future Clean Air Act (CAA) or Clean Water Act (CWA) permitting applicability assessments, SPCC Plan Implementation and upkeep, No exposure storm water certification, ISO 14001 management system implementation, sustainability project execution and data management. You will have a mix of office, shop and remediation site field work in your day to day work activities.
As the Environmental Engineer, you will be accountable for permitting, recordkeeping, reporting and ensuring compliance with all environmental regulatory and company requirements. You will also support continuous improvement of the environmental management system, which includes but is not limited to managing remediation treatment activities, solid/hazardous waste management, and periodic engagement with site functional groups outside of the SH&E organization in order to address various cross-functional site-level environmental initiatives.
This role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.

Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field and 6 years of relevant experience
- Experience with remediation, solid waste (RCRA), water pollution regulations, SPCC, TSCA, Hazardous Waste management regulations (RCRA), and Hazardous Materials Management, including SARA 312/313 Reporting
- Prior experience as a team member or project manager for remediation projects, which may include the excavation and removal of contaminated soil, groundwater treatment, vapor intrusion and the implementation of engineering controls
- Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001)
- Familiar with the chemistry of hazardous substances and chemicals
- Familiar with water treatment system operations and equipment technologies
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal team, interested parties and environmental regulators (effective written and verbal communication skills)
- Ability to balance multiple projects and changing priorities
Preferred Skills and Education- Groundwater Hydrogeology
- Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing data in multiple sources and formats
- Project management skills and experience
- Familiar with purchase order (PO)/Contractor management or oversite
- Groundwater Hydrogeology
- Familiarity with TSCA compliance
- Experience with water treatment system operations and remediation equipment technologies
