Title: Consultant / Senior Consultant, Interconnection & Transmission
Location: U.S. Reston (Preferrable) / Remote
As a Consultant or Senior Consultant, in the Interconnection & Transmission team, you will support interconnection consulting engagements for clients across North American power markets. This role is focused on hands-on support for Interconnection Application (IA) preparation, submission, and tracking, as well as analytical support for generator and load interconnection studies and transmission planning work. The Analyst role is ideal for early-career professionals seeking to build strong technical foundations in interconnection processes, power system analysis, and consulting delivery within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support Interconnection Application (IA) activities, including preparation of application materials, data validation, and coordination of submissions and addressing deficiencies.
- Assist with tracking IA milestones, study phases, schedules, and data requests, and help maintain internal IA trackers and documentation.
- Perform entry-level technical analyses to support generator and load interconnection and transmission planning studies.
- Support power flow modeling and simulation efforts under guidance from senior team members.
- Assist in preparing client deliverables, including technical memoranda, reports, presentations, and data summaries.
- Coordinate with internal project teams to support IA-related consulting work across multiple client engagements.
- Stay current on interconnection rules, study processes, and regulatory developments across North American power markets.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in the North American electric power sector or strong academic exposure to power systems, transmission, or interconnection topics.
- Demonstrated experience with using power system modeling tools (e.g. PSCAD, PSS®E, PowerWorld, PSLF, TARA) through coursework, internships, or early professional experience.
Preferred Skills:- Prior experience supporting Interconnection Application preparation, submission, or study coordination.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- 4+ years of experience in power markets or transmission consulting.
- Experience working with renewable developers, transmission utilities, or related stakeholders.
- Advanced skills in MS Office and data analysis tools.
- Experience in any North American market related to interconnection and transmission planning is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of transmission planning, power flow analysis, and grid operations concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$74,090.00 - $125,954.00
