Full Job Description
Purpose of the Position: The Energy Analyst will work closely with Beale Development, Energy and Delivery leaders to support the evaluation, development, and execution of a power strategy for new hyperscale data centers. This role will provide analytical and project support across the development lifecycle, including market analysis, project economics, due diligence, stakeholder coordination, and investment analysis.

Scope & Requirements: The Energy Analyst will drive activities throughout the lifecycle of data center development and delivery, working closely with the Delivery, Energy and Development teams on new site selection, campus planning, design and delivery stages.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, commercially minded, and comfortable working across multiple projects and disciplines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities and Focus:

Energy and Market Analysis:
  • Conduct research and analysis of energy markets, infrastructure trends, regulatory developments, commodity markets, and competitive landscapes.
  • Evaluate market fundamentals, supply and demand dynamics, pricing and emerging opportunities.
  • Track industry developments and identify trends that may affect project economics or development strategy.
  • Prepare markets studies, presentations, reports, and management briefings.

Due Diligence and Transaction Support:
  • Assist with technical, commercial, regulatory, and operational due diligence.
  • Analyze project data, contracts, energy agreements, studies, and other diligence materials.
  • Support evaluation of acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, and other strategic opportunities.
  • Prepare land council and investment committee materials and transaction presentations.

Infrastructure and Project Analysis:
  • Evaluate energy infrastructure requirements including transmission, substations, interconnection facilities and other supporting infrastructure
  • Analyze project schedules, mitigation plans, capital requirements, and execution risks.
  • Support coordination with utilities, developers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Reporting and Communication:
  • Develop clear and concise presentations, electric rate analysis, dashboards, and executive-level reports.
  • Maintain project databases, models, schedules, and other analytical tools.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to project teams and senior leadership.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Location: San Francisco, CA (strongly preferred)

Total Compensation Range: $90,000 - $120,000 (+ annual performance bonus)
