Primary Purpose

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsibility for assisting with the design, testing, implementation, documentation and on-going performance of daily operational processes and systems required for Retail Electric Suppliers (RESs), Customer Self Managers (CSMs), Metering Service Providers (MSPs) and General Account Agents (GAAs) to enroll retail customers in retail choice programs and tariffs. Management responsibility for the design, testing, implementation, documentation and on-going performance of daily operational processes and systems required for GAA processes, retail customer billing analyses and preparing and delivering historical retail customer usage data resulting from market participant data requests. Support other Analysts in Department with day-to-day responsibilities and other organizations with strategic initiatives such as the design and implementation of new legislative programs. Note: Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

  • Ongoing responsibility for performing retail customer billing analyses resulting from market participant inquiries. (25%)
  • Responsibility for assisting with the design, testing, implementation, documentation and on-going performance of daily operational processes and systems associated with preparing and delivering historical retail customer usage data resulting from market participant data requests and billing market participants for those services. Job Scope

JOB SCOPE

The energy, capacity, transmission service and ancillary services purchased and delivered by RESs exceeds $2.5 billion annually. Retail market design issues affect the entire business model. Daily processes affect retail customer billing, short-and long-term load and financial forecasts and after-the-fact reporting and settlement throughout the Company. Electric and Gas Supplier Services continually works with senior members of Energy Acquisition, Regulatory & External Affairs, Customer Operations and Load Forecasting in performing daily responsibilities and supporting strategic initiatives.

This position supports PECO's Energy Acquisition team through the administration and execution of energy supply and regulatory compliance activities. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, Billing, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Customer Care, and other internal organizations to ensure the accurate processing and reporting of energy-related transactions. Responsibilities include data analysis, supplier interactions, invoice review, compliance support, issue resolution, and process documentation. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment. The position offers exposure to wholesale energy markets, supplier management, renewable energy compliance programs, and regulatory processes. The successful candidate will be expected to identify operational improvements and contribute to process efficiency initiatives within Energy Acquisition Operations. Participation in cross-functional projects, audits, and regulatory support activities may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics or relevant discipline and a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with restructured retail marketplace and retail tariffs, billing and enrollments
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make decisions

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Electric and gas utility experience
  • Familiarity with wholesale electricity marketplace and PJM business rules
  • Experience in energy procurement, utility operations, renewable energy compliance, regulatory reporting, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of wholesale electricity and natural gas markets and the factors that influence energy pricing.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and support the resolution of operational and billing issues.
  • Experience working with suppliers, customers, and internal business partners in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
