Full Job Description
NYIT’s Office of Information Technology seeks an Endpoint Solutions Engineer located at the Old Westbury campus. Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain hardware and software for all NYIT-owned end-user computing equipment.
  • Develop procedures to allow first- and second-tier support to resolve common end-user computing issues.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Windows and macOS operating environments.
  • Inventory, prepare, and validate computer hardware and associated peripherals before they are deployed to the field.
  • Deploy computing resources to public computing spaces (i.e. labs, kiosks, classrooms); assist Client Services with deployment of personal computing devices during peak times as needed.
  • Provide second and third-tier technical support; concisely and effectively document issues to facilitate resolution and maintain user satisfaction.
  • Provide technical specification support to meet defined end-user computing needs for personal use as well as lab and classroom use.
  • Maintain inventory, tools, and media necessary for the delivery of support services used within the Endpoint Solutions and Client Services teams.
  • Manage specific applications in support of end-user computing, including system management, academic software, Windows and macOS deployment, antivirus, endpoint encryption, and print release.
  • In conjunction with the Manager of Endpoint Solutions and ITS Security Teams, develop and implement policies related to desktop security.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all members of the NYIT community to maintain and improve user satisfaction.
  • Manage student intern staff within the Endpoint Solutions team.
  • Coordinate support activities for NYIT’s leased copier/printer operations across all campuses; monitor associated print management software, print volumes, and user quota allocations to ensure optimal use of resources and services.
  • Other duties as needed by the department and defined by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of three years of relevant technical experience; additional work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • Expert knowledge of current versions of Windows, macOS, MS Office, Google Workspace for Education, as well as advanced knowledge of PC and Apple hardware/configuration issues.
  • Experience creating and updating OS images for Windows and macOS workstation/laptop configurations and supporting imaging processes.
  • Experience deploying and managing endpoints via MDM solutions such as ManageEngine or JAMF.
  • Experience with co-management using Intune, including enrollment, configuration, deployments, and hybrid Active Directory-joined device management.
  • Proficiency in Windows PowerShell utilizing task automation, configuration management frameworks, and remote troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Windows BitLocker Drive Encryption, FDE solutions, and TPM management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively diagnose and resolve hardware issues; expert understanding of the inner workings of PC and related hardware along with the ability to configure office productivity software, such as MS Office, virus protection software, and email clients required.
  • Knowledge of networking and internetworking concepts including TCP/IP and Virtual Private Networking.
  • Knowledge of application installation packaging, scripting, and deployment tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to establish effective collaborative working relationships at all levels of the University.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to work concurrently on multiple tasks and projects; ability to communicate progress/problems to appropriate personnel effectively.
  • Able to physically move and install computers, printers, and peripherals in locations that may not have an elevator.
  • Must be detail oriented; possess excellent customer service and problem-solving skills; and display a high degree of integrity.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends on an as-needed basis is required.
