Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Endpoint Management / Patch Operations Administrator provides patch implementation, management and maintenance services to ensure we securely manage the assets, access and operations support the customer’s global mission to provide IT services to DoS users enterprise wide.

 

Responsibilties:

 

  • You will perform patch management and security update operations support to maintain operating environment compliance.
  • You will perform patch and security update deployment testing and maintain the customer patch File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site.
  • In this role you will operate and maintain MS Enterprise Configuration Manager (MECM) instances and manage infrastructure patching.
  • You will oversee more than 45 MECM servers across all enclaves supporting updates and security for over 10,000 Windows servers and workstations.
  • You will also provide antivirus support and guidance and perform remediation for compliance, vulnerability management, anti-virus protection, and patching.
  • You will additionally operate, maintain, secure, and engineer updates for all automated environments using DoS-approved automation tools, such as Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Puppet, or other DoS-approved solutions.
  • In this role you will also Operate, maintain, secure, and engineer updates on the Red Hat Satellite System management platform to deploy, provision, patch, and manage thousands of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across hybrid cloud environments from a single management point with full life cycle management.
  • You will comply with DoS rules and regulations governing patch and security update operations.
  • You will also develop and maintain Endpoint Management / Patch administration SOPs for the customer IT service delivery processes aligned Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and DoS standards.
  • Update SOPs to reflect modernization initiatives and emerging technologies.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The following are the education and experience required for this position:

  • 5+ years
  • Bachelor's in IT or related field
  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • Secret Security Clearance 

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comp TIA Sec+, ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s) 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:
