Full Job Description
Position Summary

TCW is seeking an experienced Emerging Markets (EM) Corporate Credit Research Analyst to join its EM Fixed Income team. The analyst will be responsible for fundamental, bottom‑up credit research across EM corporates globally and will work closely with portfolio managers and traders to identify relative‑value opportunities across dedicated EM and global mandates (including cross asset strategies).

 

  • Role is onsite in Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY
  • Periodic travel for issuer meetings, conferences, and diligence
Essential Duties
  • Conduct bottom‑up fundamental credit research across EM corporates in Latin America, CEEMEA, and Asia, incorporating business risk, financial performance, leverage, liquidity, ESG considerations, country risk, FX exposure, and relevant macro factors
  • Build, maintain, and update detailed financial models to assess credit strength, debt service capacity, capital structure robustness, and growth sustainability
  • Analyze debt structures, covenants, security packages, and recovery prospects across investment grade, high yield, and distressed securities in both primary and secondary markets
  • Identify and communicate relative‑value investment ideas across USD and local‑currency bonds, including structured and project finance transactions
  • Prepare and present written research reports, credit updates, and investment recommendations to portfolio managers and internal stakeholders, and participate in management meetings and diligence calls

Sector Coverage

  • Prior experience covering oil & gas and/or consumer sectors is preferred but not required
  • Flexibility to support broader sector coverage as portfolio needs evolve
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in emerging markets corporate credit research (buy side or sell side)
  • Strong financial statement analysis and financial modeling skills
  • Bachelor’s degree.
Professional Skills Qualifications
  • Multilingual capabilities strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a clear investment mindset
Desired Qualifications

MBA and/or CFA preferred

 

This role requires candidates to work from a TCW office five days a week.

 

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For CA/NY based position, the base salary range is $200k-$250k. This represents base salary range only.

Other Compensation:In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus.
