Job Description

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking a highly motivated, talented academic clinician to join the Department as Associate Chair for Research. Desirable candidates will hold the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with experience and credentials. The Department's goal is to grow research and scholarly output as a whole, while building a nationally recognized research program. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated expertise in leading research in Emergency Medicine, a track record of funded research, publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, strong mentorship skills and clear evidence of promoting the academic careers of fellow faculty and trainees.

This opportunity includes the following:
  • Ability to join a faculty with commitment to excellence in practice, education and research in a >60,000 visit/year high acuity Emergency Department.
  • Ability to contribute to educational mission of Mayo Clinic working closely with learners inside and outside of the Emergency Department (e.g. medical students, nursing students, residents from multiple specialties)
  • A world-class multidisciplinary simulation center
  • Numerous opportunities for collaborative multi-disciplinary and multi-site research across Mayo Clinic
