Emergency Medicine APP Lead - Central Maine Healthcare APP Lead - Emergency Medicine PA/NP Full-Time Interested in joining a physician-owned and physician-led emergency medicine group? BlueWater Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine PA or NP for full-time work as APP Lead across our Central Maine Healthcare Emergency Departments: Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital in Bridgton, and Rumford Hospital in Rumford. About the Position: The Local APP Lead will work in conjunction with BlueWater's Director of APPs for the North Region and the Medical Directors at the Central Maine Healthcare locations to support a strong, collaborative team of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants across the three Central Maine Healthcare Emergency Departments. This role offers the opportunity to lead across a diverse mix of clinical environments, while maintaining a primary clinical presence at Central Maine Medical Center. The Lead APP will work closely with: - Medical Directors at the Central Maine Healthcare Emergency Departments - BlueWater's Director of APPs, North Region - APP teams at Central Maine Medical Center, Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital Responsibilities include: - Assessing APP staffing needs and scheduling APPs - Help to create a culture of teamwork - Serving as a role model for APPs - Attending department meetings, as expected of all staff APPs - Conducting APP specific meetings on a regular basis based on local need, no less than twice yearly - Coordinating APP student rotation in conjunction with both BW central office and the Medical Director - Acting as a resource for the Medical Directors to provide input on clinical and workflow processes in clinical facilities as it pertains to the APPs - Participating in the recruiting and interviewing of prospective candidates for employment with BlueWater, for both physicians and APPs - Onboarding of new APPs - Maintaining regular communication with APPs in order to understand concerns, challenges, and opportunities specific to the APP group Reports to: - Local Medical Director(s) - Director of Advanced Practice Providers for the Northern Region Clinical Role: - Strong clinical skills in Emergency Medicine - Works clinically primarily at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, with additional clinical work at Bridgton Hospital and occasional coverage at Rumford Hospital as needed - Must be willing and able to work across all three Central Maine Healthcare Emergency Departments Benefits include: - Yearly stipend w/ administrative time credit toward FTE - Additional leadership training opportunities - Competitive Compensation and Best-in-Class Benefits Package (fully covered Family Health, Dental, Disability Insurance) - Generous company-direct Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions - 401k contributions and Guaranteed Profit Sharing - Malpractice Insurance - Generous CME allowance About Central Maine Healthcare: The BlueWater Health - Central Maine Healthcare is a large, not-for-profit regional health system based in the Lewiston/Auburn area of Maine. The System includes the medical center, Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital, along with a large primary and specialty care outpatient network. The Central Maine Healthcare team is a group of board certified Emergency Medicine physicians and Advanced Practice Providers staffing three emergency departments with a combined annual census of 65,000. Practice sites include a 200-bed, Level III Trauma Center and two Critical Access Hospitals. The emergency medicine team is supported by a large offering of inpatient and specialty services, including adult and pediatric hospitals, critical care, trauma, general and specialty surgery, OBGYN, and the medical subspecialties. Typical clinical days include exposure to urban, suburban, and rural/austere pathology.
