Job Title

Embedded Systems Design & Release Engineer

Overview / Summary

We are seeking an Embedded Systems Design & Release Engineer to support development and integration of automotive embedded systems within chassis and powertrain domains. The role involves software delivery support, diagnostics, validation, supplier coordination, and vehicle integration activities in an Agile development environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide supplier partners through product development processes and requirement signoff
  • Support driver assist feature development and embedded system integration
  • Deliver software work packages through software change management processes
  • Support release documentation, functional validation, and OTA software updates
  • Work on cross-module network communication implementation
  • Investigate Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) issues and support quality detection activities
  • Support service manual development
  • Support Breadboard and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) issue resolution and software updates
  • Support prototype vehicle builds including root cause analysis and software flashing
  • Release diagnostic specifications
  • Ensure compliance with central software requirements and ASPICE standards
  • Lead Software Technical Design Reviews (TDRs)
  • Support assembly plant End-of-Line (EOL) setup and issue resolution
  • Participate in Agile software development processes

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 5+ years of experience in design or development of embedded systems
  • 2+ years of experience in chassis or powertrain controls design or development
  • Strong understanding of embedded automotive systems
  • Familiarity with vehicle network communication protocols (e.g., CAN)
  • Experience troubleshooting vehicle/system-level issues
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in requirements management (2+ years preferred)
  • Experience in supplier management
  • Familiarity with FMEA and quality assurance processes
  • Exposure to digital and analog data acquisition systems
  • Experience with controls modeling tools (Matlab/Simulink, Stateflow, SysML, etc.)
  • Experience with system analysis tools and methodologies
  • Exposure to Agile development environments
  • Strong motivation to support new technologies from concept to production
