Embedded Software Lead to join our growing organization to lead challenging avionics development efforts for DoD applications. As an embedded software lead, you will be responsible for establishing a new embedded software group capable of delivering and certifying DO-178 safety-critical software. Your role will cover both technical aspects including crafting of highly optimized and efficient software architecture and code as well as compliance responsibilities including requirements traceability, data and code coupling analysis, source to object analysis, and code coverage.
Embedded software systems developed by Intellisense typically are small, bare-metal implementations on small microcontrollers making it possible for a small team of one or two developers to achieve needed rigor for safety-critical software typically performed by large primes. Successful candidates will have the experience of having successfully completed at least one such project as a technical contributor with desire to lead such an effort while mentoring additional team members as required.
Responsibilities:Technical Leadership, Design & Development- Develop optimized and simplified code while also meeting rigorous safety-critical requirements.
- Manage full bi-directional requirements traceability, RTVM, and peer reviews.
- Manage all customer deliverables including documents, artifacts, and presentations required for all SOI's and manage relationship with DER.
- Manage the development of analyses required by DO-178 and similar standards.
- Engage in hands-on design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Mentorship & Project Support - Set expectations and offer exemplary work product examples to achieve the best work product from the embedded software team.
- Extend certification analysis to other members of the development team who are not already familiar with the unique demands of certification.
Requirements:Technical Skills- B.S. or advanced degree in Electrical, Systems, or Software.
- 8+ years of experience in software design,
- 2+ years of DO-178 or similar safety critical development experience,
- Strong hands-on experience in designing and troubleshooting low-level, bare-metal software systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems engineering skills.
People & Communication Skills - Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to customers, program managers, and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range: $140,000-$220,000 (Base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience)
